Absolutely outstanding builder and project manager. His team and sub contractors were always on time and did quality work. The builders were courteous, professional, and did an excellent job. The extension was built and completely enclosed in the first 3 weeks, while we still lived inside without disruption. The rest of the fit out was completed over the following 8 weeks. Less than 3 months all up from start to end. They never missed a deadline, always arrived when they said they would, and never made a mess. Perhaps most amazingly, they came in UNDER budget. Seen in these photos is a picture of a deck made of a manufactured wood product called ‘Modwood’ the other photo is ‘Merbau’ a hardwood timber.
Modwood does have the benefit of longivity and resistance to rot. The product does come in a number of different colours, the boards are straight with no knots. One negative is I have known this product to get very hot under foot when in the sun and some may argue it just does not look like the real thing.
Timber decking has the benefit of being a renewable product and we do like the look and feel of real wood. Timber decking does come in a variety of species, colours and grain.
