This is a recent first floor addition.
We have added a large master suite with walk in rober and ensuite. The space allowed for a 5th guest bedroom, work from home office space and sitting area.
BASIX stands for Building Sustainability Index
It is a sustainability assessment tool for residential buildings in NSW.
It mandates standards to achieve reductions in water and energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. BASIX applies to new houses and apartments, alterations and additions to residential developments.
What does that mean for your home addition?
Basix will set standards and design criteria and material selection for various parts of your build and is all part of the process we need to go through in the design process and as part of the council or CDC approval process.
